Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock for PC is a first-person science fiction adventure game developed by the independent Hungarian studio Red Herring Labs. Descent to Deadrock is a commercial remake of the popular flash adventure game Morningstar that was launched in May 2009.
Plot
We play as the astronaut called Powell who takes part in a routine mercenary mission on the titular Morningstar space ship. The mission turns into a fight for survival after a mysterious gravitational force crashes the frigate on an unknown planet. After coming round, our hero soon realizes that he is the only survivor of the crash and only he can fix the broken space ship in order to get back home. As he explores the planet, he discovers that it is covered with many other wrecked ships. He decides to find out what, or who, is responsible for all these catastrophes and deaths and find a way out before the same happens to him.
Mechanics
Action in Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock for PC is presented from a first-person perspective. Gameplay mechanics are almost identical to those used in many point-and-click adventure games. We will be exploring more and more locations, solve various riddles, and search for useful items and figuring out how to make a good use of them. In comparison to its flash precursor, Descent to Deadrock has a more complex plot, new locations and riddles to solve. Now the game also has high definition visuals and remastered, high quality cutscenes. Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock is fully voice-acted and has a remastered OST.
