Another installment of the popular game series based on the Naruto manga and anime. It was developed by Tomy with handheld Nintendo consoles in mind. Ninja Council 4 is an adaptation of Naruto Shippuden, so the action starts 2,5 years after the events of its predecessor. The protagonist and his friends set out to Gaara’s rescue, after he'd been kidnapped by of Akatsuki.
Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 is another installment of the popular game series based on the popular Naruto manga and anime by Masashi Kishimoto. The only target platform of the title is NDS.
Ninja Council 4 is the first title of the series to be set in the updated, so to say, Naruto Shippuden universe. The action takes place two and a half years after the events of Ninja Council 3, and the eponymous Naruto is no longer a fifteen-year-old boy. The game’s plot follows him after his return to Konoha. This time around, the protagonist and his friends have to rescue Gaara who was abducted by the of Akatsuka.
The gameplay model resembles Ninja Council 3 in many respects so Ninja Council 4 is, first and foremost, a dynamic side-scroll fighting game. While playing, we control a three-people party, freely switching between playable characters. The skillful choice of party is one of the keys to success because each martial arts adept possesses unique abilities. In total, we can choose between 17 playable warriors known from the anime.
Delivering basic blows is simple but performing more complicated attacks requires some practice. Moreover, similarly to the third installment of the series, the game utilizes the unique features of Nintendo DS to a large extent. One of the examples are special attacks that can be used only after making specific movements with the stylus.
In single player, there are tens of levels that reference locations known from the TV series. It is worth noting that access to some places is gained only in the latter stages of the story. Apart from that, we can also play in the multiplayer Battle Mode in which up to four players fight a series to become the champion.
The graphics of Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 for NDS are similar in style to those of the game’s predecessor. Fights are observed from the side, and the best blows are enriched with spectacular animations.
