One of the strengths of the game is the fact that it benefits from the license of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. Thanks to that, the player competes against representations of real drivers, controlling real-life cars. The career mode constitutes the core of the experience.
NASCAR '15 for PC, X360 and PS3 is another installment in a popular series of racing games based on the license of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. The first game devoted to NASCAR racing was released in 1994 and had been developed by Papyrus Racing and the well-known Sierra Entertainment. Several years later, a competitive series, developed by the said team.
Racing in the NASCAR series is based on peculiar mechanics, because it takes place on characteristic, oval tracks deprived of sharp turns. As a result, one of the main factors influencing one's position on the finish line, is the ability to react adequately to the current situation on the track in order to apply the most appropriate driving tactics (for instance, using slipstreaming techniques or an advantageous pit-stop strategy), apart from disparities in different cars' performances and manual skills of their drivers.
Similar to the games released previously by Eutechnyx Software, NASCAR '15 for PC, X360 and PS3 uses the full license of the titular association, thus the player watches avatars of real-existing drivers, race tracks, cars and teams borrowed from the current season of NASCAR racing. As usual, the experience is complemented by realistic driving physics, as well as a polished car damage system.
The main mode in NASCAR '15 for PC, X360 and PS3 is the career, which casts the player in the role of a beginner whose goal is to become the victor in Sprint Cup Series. The player takes part in subsequent racing events signs contracts with the sponsors, upgrades their car regularly, and builds up their reputation through achieving more and more victories. Apart from that, the game offers quick races and a multiplayer mode.
NASCAR '15 for PC, X360 and PS3 does not differ much from the previous installments of the series developed by Eutechnyx. The creators had not decided on utilizing the power of PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Instead, they were focused mainly on polishing the mechanics, limiting the list of ed gaming systems to the seventh-gen consoles and PCs. This obviously affected the quality of the game's visuals.
