NBA 2K25 is the twenty-sixth main part of a series of sports games devoted to basketball. Similar to the previous installments of the series, the game was developed by the Visual Concepts team. The release of this title was handled by 2K Sports, the company overseeing the brand.

Game modes

NBA 2K25 allows us to play alone or in multiplayer via the Internet or on a shared screen. The following gameplay modes have been implemented in the game:

MyCAREER allows us to take control of a player who is just starting to build their career. On PC's and ninth generation consoles, he has an entire city at his disposal, which he can freely roam around.
MyTEAM allows us to compose our dream team and pit it against other lineups. As part of the weekly King of the Court competitions, we can compete against teams belonging to elite players.
In MyNBA, we become the manager of a basketball team, operating in one of six eras, and we strive to inscribe ourselves in golden letters in the history of this sport.
The W allows us to compete in WNBA matches, fighting for the title of the best female player in history (G.O.A.T.).
PLAY NOW offers quick access to our favorite NBA and WNBA teams.

It is worth noting that only the last three modes are available offline and the rest require an Internet connection.

proPLAY

NBA 2K25 uses proPLAY technology on personal computers and ninth generation consoles. It provides realistic animations and player movements based on real NBA video materials.

Some decent changes help elevate NBA 2K25 from last year's release, such as a more consolidated experience in The City as well as even more gameplay animations to enhance the gameplay experience. Learn 2K even helps you get back into the swing of things. However, menu input lag, incessant microtransactions, and clunky standard movement show how much room this franchise has to grow, even after all this time.

As an entire basketball package, there is no denying that NBA 2K25 is something to be savored by fans of the sport. With its great selection of game modes and the various improvements made in all areas, this makes it more of an obvious choice compared to last year's offering, and when Visual Concepts and 2K Games finally cut the cord with the previous generation, there will surely be even more amazing things to look forward to for a championship-caliber franchise.

NBA 2K25 from developer Visual Concepts and publisher 2K has a lot of intriguing and fun modes it offers from MyCareer to MyTeam, and MyGM, if you love that sort of control. It seems to have a nice spread of goods that caters to almost every basketball interest out there. Sadly, its need to stay online for single-player experiences and its need for smoother less animation-locked gameplay mechanics hurts the experience considerably.
