Nether is an online action game that puts an emphasis on the survival. The production was set in the ruins of the great metropolis after a mysterious cataclysm had destroyed the human civilization. The players explore the world in search of supplies, fighting off mutants, and fighting or cooperating with other survivors.

Such location enforces frequent and close interactions with other players. A situation in which life a sniper hidden two kilometers away kills us never happens, because at such a distance the target is obstructed by different structures. Up to 64 players can play on a map at the same time. Voice chat facilitates communication with other players. Well-organized groups can occupy buildings and repurpose them to secure fortresses.

Nether provides an option to set up dedicated servers. Their s can enable the hardcore mode in which death is final, and forces the players to start from scratch. For the lovers of less extreme experiences, there are also server where after the death of the characters results in loss of items only, while retaining the skills and experience points.
