Never Alone is a platformer with puzzle game’s features for PC, PS4 and etc.. It is the work of Upper One Games studio.
The story of Never Alone is based on beliefs of Inuit’s. We play as a small girl from Inupiaq tribe, who travels through snow-covered lands in company of a white fox. She must set on a dangerous journey to save her people and stop the arrival of the eternal blizzard. The story campaign is divided into eight chapters, during which we encounter many beings from Inuit’s myths, e.g. Sky People, Rolling Heads and Blizzard Man. To stay true to local traditions, Upper One Game’s team consulted of tribal elderly, including descendants of Inuit, who specialized in telling such stories.
Gameplay of Never Alone for PC, PS4 and etc. doesn’t strands from platformers’ standards, testing both skill and wits of players. We avoid traps while traversing vast levels, fight enemies and solve clever puzzles. Switching between a girl and a fox plays a key role. Each of them has unique set of abilities required to finish most puzzles.
Aside from single player campaign, Never Alone offers cooperative multiplayer, in which one player controls a girl, while the other plays as a fox. This mode offers slightly changed puzzles and challenges to ensure proper experience for both players.
Never Alone’s visuals use full 3D, but its mechanics remain two-dimensional. The game is accompanied by soundtrack based on traditional music of Inuit. As for narration, all we hear is said in the language of those people, though everything is translated to English subtitles.

Game Ratings for Never Alone Video Game.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 8.5 / 10 by Dyani Wood
Never Alone is one of those games I want everyone I know to be able to play. It's a really great example of the good that video games can do in the world, and of the artform they really are. Anyone can play it, everyone would find something to enjoy about it, you can play it with a friend, and non-gamers would even enjoy watching you play due to the intermittent documentary clips and the beautiful art style. The future of gaming looks even more exciting due to Never Alone's existence. If this is an indication of more to come, I can't wait to participate in other cultures and stories from around the world in an interactive art form.

What E-Line Media and Upper One Games are doing is irable. It's awesome to see the Inupiaq people author their story in a video game like this, an opportunity that few cultures and minorities have. Their involvement is felt everywhere in Never Alone, and I just want to play more games that explore that mythology.

Never Alone is quite a short game, but its charm, coupled with the opportunity to explore a culture you might not know much about, makes it utterly captivating.
