Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition for PC is a remastered version of the classic RPG by BioWare. The remaster was developed by Beamdog which created several similar productions, including Planescape Torment: Enhanced Edition.
The project is based on Hordes of the Underdark, and Kingmaker expansion packs.
The action takes place in Forgotten Realms which are the most popular setting of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game. The story of the vanilla version of Neverwinter Nights revolves around the eponymous city of Neverwinter that fell victim to a mysterious plague and was therefore quarantined. The player assumes the role of a hero tasked with devising a cure for the plague and investigating its cause.
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is a classic PC RPG. While playing, we explore locations, develop our character, perform quests, and fight. Battles take place in real time; the combat system offers an active pause feature that lets us stop the game and calmly issue orders.
The game lets us create our own character from scratch but also offers a set of premade heroes to choose from. In Neverwinter Nights, the player starts out with just the protagonist. Later on, we can recruit a henchman (one in vanilla game and Shadows of Undrentide, two in Hordes of the Underdark), which is controlled by the AI.
The game offers an extensive story campaign. Neverwinter Nights alone offers tens of hours of gameplay, while the included expansion packs prolong the fun even further. Moreover, the production puts emphasis on multiplayer mode, letting players freely shape the online gameplay. Even a hundred players can play on a single server, including the Dungeon Masters that control adventures and change them on the fly as needed.
The title also comes with powerful and -friendly modding tools that let us create both single player and multiplayer content.
Compared to the original, the biggest changes were naturally made in the graphics. Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition features an improved engine that uses the pixel shader technology and offers additional visual effects. The enhancements were also made in the interface; while the entire game was revamped to suit the 1080p and 4K screen resolutions.
What’s praiseworthy, despite these enhancements, Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is fully backward compatible. Not only can we use old save games but also mods. Moreover, the developers worked with the fans and introduced a number of facilities on the basis of their – these include those that make the gameplay and deg mods more pleasurable.

Game Ratings for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Video Game.
Gamer Guides: 5.5 / 10 by Nathan Garvin
While overflowing with content, the console port of Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition suffers from technical issues and poor controls. If you have a group of dedicated friends to adventure with the experience may be worthwhile, but there’s little compelling reason to prefer this version over the cheaper, more feature-rich PC version.
GameSpace: 7 / 10 by Robin Baird
Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition brings a classic game to a more modern look while retaining everything which made the original a classic in the first place. It's worth playing for anyone who hasn't ever played it and a fun trip through memory lane for those of us who have loved it. Unfortunately, the Switch version suffers from not having the touchscreen-enabled for navigating menus and in-game.
PlayStation Universe: 8 / 10 by John-Paul Jones
Though the dated presentation and omission of some multiplayer features undeniably rankle, Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition still manages to acquit itself ably as a landmark RPG that deserves to be absorbed by an entirely new generation of gamers.
