Neverwinter Nights is an cRPG game based on the third edition of Dungeons & Dragons and dedicated to online gameplay via the Internet (single player mode also available). It is an attempt to transfer traditional pen ‘n’ paper roleplaying games to 3D world of virtual entertainment. The action of the game takes place in Forgotten Realms, primarily designed based on Advanced Dungeons & Dragons; however, this game utilizes the third edition of Dungeons & Dragons. The graphics of Neverwinter Nights are detailed and realistic, while the Game Guide is replaced by Neverwinter Toolset, a set of tools to design your own scenarios and planning adventures. The events of the main campaign are set in the area north from those known from Baldur’s Gate.

The single player mode offers an interesting and extensive story for about 80 hours of gameplay, similar to those of Baldur’s Gate series. Multiplayer modes are numerous: from simple duels to extensive epopees. What’s more, there is a possibility of importing the sets of new adventures, both the ones created by other players with Neverwinter Toolset, and those made by BioWare. Those sets may be linked to make a bigger world that players can host on the Internet. In multiplayer, the players can only control one character.

The Best RPG Companions and Squad

There are some companions from game you just can't forget. Even when we don't know what cause the hero fought for and what the plot was really about. This is probably most evident in RPGs.

RPG

The second official expansion pack for the 2002 role-playing game Neverwinter Nights by BioWare. The plot of Hordes of the Underdark follows the events of the first expansion: while the protagonist rests in Waterdeep, the city is attacked by an army of monsters from the underworld. To save the city, you have to discover why the monsters, up until now hostile only towards each other, teamed up, and destroy their alliance. Unlike Shadows of Underntide, the gameplay was created with high-level characters in mind and the difficulty level is clearly harder. The game introduces six new prestige classes, previously unknown locations, monsters, items, spells, abilities and weapons, as well as the option of having another companion in your party, while the maximum character level has been raised to 30.

Apart from the main storyline, in which you play as a student of the dwarven adventurer Drogan Droganson, the expansion also features new sidequests, locations, items, spells, weapons, magical artifacts, and monsters to defeat. Other new elements in Shadow of Undrentide are five prestige classes and previously unavailable option of modifying our henchman's inventory.
