Platform action game with elements of adventure, in which players play the role of Pete - a boy awakened from a coma, trying to find his lost sister. The protagonist embarks on a dangerous journey through an oneiric world, solving riddles and confronting enemies he encounters along the way.
Before developing his first commercial work, the warmly-received Pinstripe, Thomas Brush designed an uncomplicated, free production known as Coma! The game described here, Neversong, also known as One Upon a Coma is an extended version that was developed for PS4, PC and XONE.
In Neversong the players take on the the role of Pete, who has fallen into a coma for a long time. After awakening, the protagonist sadly discovers that his sister has disappeared in mysterious circumstances. The hero sets off on a journey through an oneiric land - during this dangerous journey, the players have the opportunity to learn about his mysterious past.
Neversong is an action platform game enriched with adventure game elements. Events in which we take part in the game are presented from the side. There are ten locations waiting to be visited (such as idyllic landscapes of meadows or mountain peaks, as well as places straight from nightmares), where we solve puzzles and fight enemies. There are also arcade sections and the possibility of conversations with NPCs, who often shed new light on the story told by the creators.
Neversong boasts two-dimensional graphics of high quality, evoking associations with the visuals used by Hollow Knight; the game is complemented by a piano soundtrack.

Game Ratings for Neversong Video Game.
Softpedia: 7.5 / 10 by Cosmin Vasile
Although visually charming and despite the unique atmosphere, the game world feels somehow empty. Most of the gameplay relies on the same simple ideas which are repeated from start to end. Although it requires precision from the player, Neversong does not offer the control scheme to such a need.
Hardcore Gamer: 4.5 / 5 by Fran Soto
Neversong took me about three hours to complete, but its message resonated with me for far longer.
Impulsegamer: 4 / 5 by Sean Warhurst
If you liked the tainted dreamlike aesthetic of games like Inside and the exploration and platforming of titles like Ori and the Blind Forest and Hollow Knight, but also appreciate a tightly constructed narrative then you can do far worse than giving Neversong a few hours of your time.
