Panzerkrieg is the next paid expansion to the free-to-play turn-based strategy game titled Blitzkrieg - a previous addition developed by The Artistocrats.

Story

Two years after the outbreak of World War II, the German army started an offensive in the east, stopping only after reaching the outskirts of Moscow. After several counterattacks from the Soviet troops, the aggressors had to retreat and regroup, at the same time trying to keep their positions close to the capital; however, after the forces of armoured divisions were replenished, the warfare resumed. This is how the struggle in Order of Battle: Panzerkrieg begins, during which players take part in historical battles like the siege of Sevastopol and Stalingrad or the Battle of Kursk (ended with the greatest battle of armoured troops in history).

Mechanics

The pillar of Order of Battle: Panzerkrieg is the campaign for which the developers have prepared twelve scenarios. In the course of the game, we take control of more than forty new units, including Tiger (Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger) and Panther (Panzerkampfwagen V Panther) tanks, heavy tank destroyer Ferdinand, Wurfrahmen rocket launcher and Focke-Wulf Fw 190, Me 410 and Ju 87 G planes. The new theatre of action is reflected in the muddy terrain, which has a negative impact on the speed of units.

Technical aspects

Panzerkrieg is a non-standalone add-on, and therefore requires the basic version of the game to work. . Due to the fact that the add-on is the second part of the Grand German Campaign trilogy, players who have completed the previous DLCs can import their saved game states from the final phase of Blitzkrieg, moving their main troops, commanders and specializations to Panzerkrieg; of course, nothing stands in the way of starting the game from scratch.
