Panzer General Online

Panzer General Online is a browser strategy game based on the free-to-play business model with microtransactions. The title has been developed by the Blue Byte studio, which specializes in free of charge productions and has previously developed such projects as Anno Online, The Settlers Online and Might & Magic Heroes Online.

The action of Panzer General Online takes place during World War II. The authors have prepared a single player campaign, as well as a multiplayer mode; in both cases we participate in historically inspired battles. The title does not offer much in the way of realism - instead of accurate, legitimate reproductions of famous skirmishes, we are given scenarios which are merely an abstract adaptation of real events.

The gameplay comes down to turn-based fights with a variety of units on the battlefield (e.g. infantry, tanks and aircraft). The battles take place on elongated boards, composed out of hexes; at the beginning of each match, both of the factions are set up on the opposing sides of the map. The newest Blue Byte production also features some card game elements, players compose their own decks and the cards they choose, which they previously also had to unlock, represent the units that later on can be used in battles.
