Papers, Please for PC, iOS and PSV is an unusual logic game and a satirical criticism of communism. It is the first commercial project of Lucas Pope, the creator of a few similar, free titles, including The Republica Times and 6 Degrees of Sabotage.

The action takes place in a fictional communistic country called Arstotzka. We play as a young officer who is a new employee of a local customs service. Our motherland has recently ended a 6-year war with its neighbor, Kolechia. As part of the peace agreement, both sides agreed that their border crossing will be located right in the middle of the town of Grestin.

Opening of borders means that it is necessary to rigorously control all people trying to get to Arstotzka. Our task is to catch smugglers, spies and terrorists. We can do that by analyzing documents, conducting inspections and personal searches, as well as by accessing a primitive fingerprints database. Next, we have to decide whether to let a traveler or not or even whether to throw him into prison - we need to base our deciscion on the gathered information.
