A brutal action game in retro style, developed as a commercial edition of a project for Global Game Jam. The title was created by an independent studio PinoklGames from Ukraine. During the game you assume the role of a man who is clearly dissatisfied with his neighbors disrupting the quiet night hours and decides to seek revenge against them.
Party Hard is a brutal, tactical game with stealth elements. In the course of the game the players try to take bloody revenge on their neighbors for having too loud of a party. The prototype was developed by the indie developer PinoklGames for the Global Game Jam competition, and was later made available for free as a browser game. Due to the publisher's decision, a commercial version of the game, intendend for PCs and iOS/Android, was created.
In the game, you assume the role of a man who got sick of his neighbors’ rampant party-life and their awful habit of disturbing of peace, and decided to resolve the matter in a rather drastic manner. Instead of calling the police for the nth time, the protagonist is resolved to attend the next big bash and murder all of the participants.
The action takes place in a procedurally generated interior of our neighbors’ house, during the abovementioned party. Your task is to lure consecutive guests into secluded places and permanently silence them using pointy and/or blunt objects or various, cleverly constructed environment-based traps. As befits a stealth game, you cannot act openly. The key to success is the ability to blend in and take advantage of every small opportunity to hunt down another irritating party-animal, while staying out of other guests’ sight and police suspicion.
Party Hard features old school pixel-art graphics and straightforward controls. During the game, you are accompanied by a collection of standard issue party songs from late '80s and early '90s.

While it may not have the most captivating of storylines, the game itself is fun and addictive. It's a great way to kill some time – no pun intended – and may leave you muttering things under your breath that make others question your sanity. Plus, you can count on new content being added in the future, which will increase the game's replayability and won't cost you a cent.

Loading up the game for the soundtrack alone is worth it, and I won't deny that I quickly went online to find each of the tracks. Below the surface there isn't too much else to see with this title, so you will be done with it relatively quickly. Nonetheless, if going on a killing rampage while dancing the night away sounds like your kind of night out then it may be worth checking out.

Party Hard is seemingly a patch away from being a much better game. The stealth gameplay is satisfying, but a game can't be this difficult while also being unfair to the player. The technical issues that bring down publisher tinyBuild's latest game are disappointing and really tarnish a solid base.
