Patapon 1+2 Replay

Patapon 1+2 Replay is a compilation of remastered versions of the first two installments of the cult strategy-rhythm game series. This collection was developed by the Japanese studio SAS, while its release was handled by Bandai Namco Entertainment (which received a license to use the brand from Sony Interactive Entertainment).

Gameplay

In Patapon 1+2 Replay we watch the action from the side. During the game, we take control of a squad of titular creatures, who set off on an expedition in search of a new home.

Patapon classes

Individual Patapons were differentiated in of classes (roles) determining their characteristics, equipment, and skills. Some of the class examples are Tatepon equipped with a shield, Yumipon shooting a bow, or Hatapon leading allies and holding a flag. Our task is to compose such a unit, whose will complement each other. They must be ready to face increasingly greater threats.

Rhythm battles

While leading the Patapons, we give them commands by pressing a sequence of buttons, each of which triggers a hit on one of the drums: Pata, Pon, Don, and Chaka. Depending on the combination of strikes we initiate, we will give our characters a different command. For example, we can order them to move forward, adopt a defensive stance, or launch an attack. In order to achieve success, we must not only individual commands, but also demonstrate a sense of rhythm.
