The third big story expansion for the classic RPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous from Owlcat Games studio. The add-on introduces a roguelike mode and a new campaign, the action of which is set in a dark archipelago, which we traverse aboard a cursed ship.
The Treasure of the Midnight Isles is the third - after Through the Ashes - big story add-on to the isometric classic RPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, developed by Owlcat Games studio. The expansion offers a unique single-player campaign set in the title archipelago, as well as a brand-new stand-alone mode based on rules known from roguelike games.
The Midnight Isles archipelago is located on a dark abyssal ocean full of danger. Between its islands, we move aboard a cursed ship whose planks have seen more than one crew. As we traverse the region - inhabited both by creatures known from the main game and previous expansions and previously unseen ones found only here - we find great riches, as well as hair-raising horrors straight out of nightmares. It depends on our decisions and skills whether the adventure ends with the discovery of the mystery of the Midnight Isles archipelago and the gaining a fortune, or death.
Gameplay in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - The Treasure of the Midnight Isles does not differ too much from what we know from the main game. So, together with our team, we explore various corners of the title region, exploring atmospheric locations, fighting in real time with active pause, and completing main and side missions. However, we can use previously unavailable magical weapons, potions and scrolls.
An important novelty in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - The Treasure of the Midnight Isles is a stand-alone mode, the action of which also takes place on the title islands. It uses solutions known from the roguelikes. What follows is that after each death of our character, most progress is reset. However, not all of them, making it relatively easy to test different character "builds" - including mythic paths) - as well as team lineups.
The Treasure of the Midnight Isles expansion requires Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous to work. The add-on makes no major changes to the game's audiovisual setting.

We know when the expanded version of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will hit PS4, XOne and Switch. Before that, however, a third major DLC awaits us. Like Pillars of Eternity 2, it will be set in pirate climates.
