Perennial Order is a mix or an action-adventure game and an RPG, enriched with horror elements. The game was developed by the independent studio Gardenfiend Games, and among its sources of inspiration its authors mention such titles as Shadow of the Colossus.

Plot

Perennial Order takes us to a fantasy land where nature, or more precisely – vegetation, has taken control. During the game we take on the role of a character who travels through the world and faces dangers lurking at every step, learning more secrets of the world around them in the process.

Gameplay

In Perennial Order we see the action from a bird's eye view. The gameplay is based on the boss rush rules, so its pillar are fights with powerful bosses. The fights are dynamic, and during them we must demonstrate not only agility and reflexes, but also perceptiveness, to spot gaps in the opponents' defense and their potential weak points.

We must learn about our opponents, and due to the fact that we die from a single blow, this most often comes down to the trial-and-error method. The issue is somewhat facilitated by the fact that after death we respawn just before the fight. Thanks to this, we do not have to waste time on retracing our steps to the problematic boss. As we progress, we develop our character, which over time increases our combat potential.

Perennial Order can be played alone or in co-op mode - on a shared screen or over the Internet.

Graphics

The graphic design of Perennial Order is maintained in a unique style reminiscent of dark painting. Plant motifs were important and they are visible both in the elements of the environment and in the designs of characters or opponents.
