Peter Jackson's King Kong

Peter Jackson's King Kong is an action-adventure video game based on the remake of a movie from 2005 entitled King Kong, directed by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings director). The player assumes the role of a scriptwriter named Jack Driscoll, who, along with his loyal crew, arrives on a fabulous island, where time seems to have stopped, as it is inhabited by dinosaurs and an enormous gorilla – the titular King Kong.

The action is shown in either first or third person. Depending on whom you are controlling at the moment (at times you can play as King Kong), the camera position changes to enhance orientation. The story is tightly related to the movie, so the events come one after another in a set order. For example, Jack has to avoid Tyrannosaurus attacks, while drawing it away from the group so they could open a massive gate. When it is done, you automatically switch to King Kong and fight with the dinosaur. Such leaps in action add dynamism to the story, but at the same time make it very linear. Ubisoft Studios provided big enough freedom of maneuvers when fighting with much stronger creatures. The game underlines interaction with the environment as well as cooperation with team . You can pick up weapons scattered here and there to improve your chances in combat or give them to your companions, or even set the nearby area on fire.
