Developed by the South Korean studio PiedPipers Team, Plebby Quest: The Crusades allows you to become one of the rulers of the medieval world and manage your chosen country. The game combines elements of strategy games, simulation and RPG.

Plot

The Plebby Quest: The Crusades takes place during the crusades in Middle Eastern and medieval Europe. The scenarios available in the game contain stories embedded in a specific period of time, which are a reference to real historical events. By choosing one of them, the player has the opportunity to start his adventure by learning about the events taking place in the Middle East, the Mediterranean or Europe. Plebby Quest: The Crusades, however, does not present accurate and faithful versions of the events of those days, but only presents slightly modified feature tasks for the game.

Mechanics

Our job in the game is to expand the kingdom and dominate over its enemies. There are many opportunities to manage a country and they often result from individual player preferences. In addition to the classic invasion of a foreign kingdom, we can also expand our economy and develop new technologies. Plebby Quest: The Crusaders enable us to collect nine types of resources such as research points, gold, wheat, horses, wood, sugar, diamonds, pagan prisoners and sacred relics. Each of them has its own special purpose and has a specific value calculated in other raw materials.

In Plebby Quest: The Crusaders, generals take command of the units, which are the main means of controlling the map. As the general's level increases, we will be able to expand his army with new formations and train the warriors we already have. It is worth ing that each of our commanders can only perform one action per turn, so we should consider whether it's better to deal with the rebels in the kingdom before we set off to conquer new territories.

During the game we will also come across many varieties of short mini-games, which will allow us to obtain raw materials or powerful artifacts. Additionally, some elements of the game require us to solve simple puzzles in order to gain special development points. For example, to gain points to develop technology, you need to play a game that consists of arranging books in a specific configuration. The skirmish in Plebby Quest: The Crusaders has also been solved using a mini-game, in which we on a separate board and give simple commands to our troops.

Game modes

Plebby Quest: The Crusades offers single player mode only. In addition to the campaign divided into three separate scenarios, we can also play free game, thus adjusting the level of the battle to our needs.

The biggest advantage of the game is certainly an unusual approach to the historical strategy games. The graphic design is pleasing to the eye, and the humour exposition is enhanced by the cartoon style. The soundtrack inspired by such productions as The Kingdom of the Winds or Dragon Flight perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the medieval world by adding elements for fantastic games only.
