Potatoman Seeks the Troof is a humorous two-dimensional platformer made in full of large pixels retro convention. The game is about exploring maps, collecting items and avoiding obstacles and enemies. The whole is characterized by an absurd, but complex scenario.
Potatoman Seeks the Troof is a 2D comedy platformer. It was developed by PixelJam Games, known for such titles as Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork, Retro Unicorn Attack or Dino Run.
The simple graphics and a funny title may suggest that Potatoman Seeks the Troof doesn't feature a sensible plot, however, the authors put a lot of effort into developing an interesting story. We play as the titular Potatoman, living in a bizarre world, which conceals a great mystery in the form of the title Troof. To discover this secret, the protagonist embarks on a dangerous journey through deserts, forests, mountains and gloomy cities. On the way, he encounters numerous opponents, some of whom will simply try to kill him and some will engage in a philosophical debate. The whole game is kept in an absurd convention and regularly gives reasons for sincere laughter.
In of gameplay mechanics, Potatoman Seeks the Troof is a classic 2D platformer with logical elements. While playing, we explore maps, avoid obstacles, traps and enemies, and solve puzzles. The production is murderously difficult and most players will have the opportunity to see hundreds of deaths before reaching the finale. At the same time, the authors took care of a great variety of all the elements of the project, starting from the location, through the types of opponents and bosses, to a wide range of ways in which the character can die.
Potatoman Seeks the Troof was made in retro convention. The graphics consist of simple shapes and large pixels, which, however, fit well with the absurd character of the game.
