Prodeus is a dynamic space shooter observed from the first person perspective. The game is inspired by classic retro shooters, which put the emphasis on fun.
Prodeus is an FPS from veterans of the genre, Michael Voeller and Jason Mojic, previously working on such productions as Doom, Bioshock Infinite and Wolfenstein. The game is inspired by retro shooters with a focus on dynamic combat with hectolitres of blood.
Prodeus is a dynamic FPS. The game refers to the old school representatives of the genre, where the plot practically does not exist, and all the fun comes from pure carnage and slaughtering throngs of enemies. These can be dismembered and killed in various violent ways. In doing so, we must be careful not to die, controlling the points of life and armor. Here, too, we will see homages to classic shooters, because we recover lost life and armor by collecting objects scattered on maps or dropped by dead enemies.
We have many types of weapons at our disposal. Including rifles, pistols, the shotguns and others. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. They are influenced by the speed of the projectile, accuracy, the time needed to reload and the amount bullets in the magazine. Each of them also uses different types of cartridges.
There's also plenty of room for secrets in the game. There are several of these usually available on each level and for finding them we will receive a special prize.
The developers have made it possible to create our own levels with the help of a special tool. Thanks to this, even after completing the game, we can try our hand at making our own maps, as well as trying out those created by other players.
Prodeus is a three-dimensional game in a style reminiscent of a 1990s shooter. However, it uses high-quality textures that only imitate the old graphic style.

TechRaptor: 9.5 / 10 by Austin Suther
Early Access was kind to Prodeus, as the end result gives us a masterful game with incredible maps, punchy and satisfying gunplay, as well as some kick-ass visuals and sound design.

for fan-made levels can potentially expand your experience somewhat but the option to create your own is missing from this version. Performance on Switch isn't flawless but it is still very playable and looks great the whole time. While it struggles to find its own identity along the way, and comes off more as an elaborate mod or a fan game than a title of its own, Prodeus does still stand as an solid though unoriginal shooter.

Prodeus’ ultraviolent combat is fantastic if that’s what you’re in the mood for. But even the most delicious meal can sour in the stomach if there’s simply too much. In short bursts, Prodeus not just stands on the shoulders of giants, it dwarfs them. Over hours, though, the incessant action and jackhammer sound design start to feel a little restrictive and repetitive. Prodeus is a near-perfect homage to late 90s shooters, but you don’t need to be a demon spawn of Doom to enjoy it.
