Prohibition 1930 is another attempt, after Prehistoric, Fire & Forget and Titan, to remind players of classic 8- and 16-bit computers within the Joystic Replay project, carried out by the French publishing house Anuman Interactive.

The action of the game was set in Chicago in the 1930s. The main character, the incorruptible detective Wiiliam Hall, wants to crack down on the gangsters who had fingers in the murder of his family. The policeman declares war on the local mafia and tries to obtain evidence against its boss Vincent Parrizi.

The game refers to classic arcade shooters of the "rail shooter" type. (target sight). The player observes the action from the first person's perspective, and his task is to point the weapon sight at successively appearing enemies before they can aim and shoot. The difficulty is that innocent civilians also appear on the screen and should not be killed.
