Mechanics

Radio Commander: Pacific Campaign is a first-person game. The gameplay consists of two layers. The first is tactical, tasking us with commanding our units during battles from within our flagship. The second is strategic, tasking us with issuing orders to all our units and forces.

Unlike most other RTS games, the player can't directly see the battlefield. All we have is the radio (through which we receive reports and issue orders), a radar (letting us know what's happening nearby), maps (on which we must write down data necessary to the war effort) and a mission board (telling us our objectives). Our chief of staff will assist us by informing us about the situation on the battlefield and relaying orders.

We can operate on land and on sea, commanding infantry, landing on shores and islands, ordering around aircraft carriers, as well as recon, bombing, torpedo and fighter squads.

Technical aspects

Radio Commander: Pacific Campaign features decent graphics. The audio is especially impressive, especially the voices of soldiers and officers from various countries.
