Railway Empire 2 is a sequel to the warmly received economic strategy from 2018. It was developed by Gaming Minds Studios and published by Kalypso Media.
Gameplay-wise, Railway Empire 2 doesn't differ much from its predecessor. Once again, the game is a classic economic strategy. We choose one of six playable characters and develop our own rail transport company. We must build tracks and infrastructure, such as train stations and repair stations, purchase enger and cargo trains and prepare schedules for them.
The game features two large maps, covering Europe and the United States. The developers have also prepared a number of smaller, more detailed maps covering specific regions of both continents.
Railway Empire 2 has seen a few improvements compared to the first game. The track-building mechanics have been improved and made more accessible. The number of tracks available on bridges has been increased to four, while the number of platforms available on stations has been increased to eight.
Railway Empire 2 offers a variety of different game modes. The developers have prepared five campaigns and fourteen scenarios. The game also features a freeplay mode, the difficulty of which can be freely customized.
