RailWorks for PC is an advanced unofficial sequel of the praised Rail Simulator released in 2007, created by real railway enthusiasts forming the Rail Simulator Developments studio. The sequel is something more than a collection of meticulously mapped tracks, carriages, locomotives, and all rules governing the controlling of a powerful railway engine. RailWorks is a complete platform to create and manage virtual railways.

Gameplay

The virtual railwaymen can take over thirteen locomotives (e.g. American F7, British 37, and German V200) in one of the 50 scenarios available from the beginning. The player also receive all tracks known from the first installment, and at least 8 completely new – 3 fictional (one in Great Britain, one in the United States, and one in Europe) and 5 authentic (British lines Oxford – Paddington, Bath – Templecombe, and York – Newcastle, famous Californian Cajun , and a German Hagen – Siegen). Nevertheless, you can always a new track, or create a new one using the built-in track editor and a special online community, which increases the database of railway engines, railways, or scenarios. RailWorks offers backward compatibility, and improved visuals.
