Mechanics

Ratten Reich is a strategy game with real-time gameplay, in which the player manages soldiers of one of the available communities. Warfare spans three different continents (Central, Eastern and Desert), each offering different challenges and terrain. For example, the Central Continent is characterized by heavily fortified military bases, which are a significant obstacle for enemy units. The East Continent, on the other hand, is known for its inaccessible, marshy terrains, significantly hindering movement.

Four different nations take part in the war - rats, mice, lizards and cockroaches - with their own unique vehicles and unit types. Every situation presented in the game is unique and requires the engagement of a certain number of soldiers. Depending on the mission, the player therefore takes command either over a small unit or an entire infantry division.

Territories engulfed in war are full of various structures, providing a convenient tactical point for the occupying forces, assuming they were not previously destroyed by the enemy army. Therefore, a well-thought-out strategy is important, including skillful use of the unique benefits of a given territory.

Technical aspects

Ratten Reich has 3D graphics with subdued colors. The gameplay itself was presented in a top-down view.
