Ravensword: The Fallen King is a third-person action RPG inspired by the well-known Gothic and The Elder Scrolls series of PCs, designed for iOS smartphones and tablets. The game was created by the American debut studio Crescent Moon Games, which has set itself the goal of recreating on mobile devices the climate of action RPG games, known from "large" hardware platforms.
Story
Ravensword: The Fallen King throws the player into the middle of an unknown fantasy land that has been haunted by a devastating demon. The former ruler of the kingdom and his heir were killed in the fight against evil, and the game world was in chaos, in which various creatures from hell were found perfectly well. The player's task is to discover the truth about his own origin and defeat the sinister demon, and the means to do so will be the title, mythical sword called Ravensword.
Mechanics
The mechanics of the gameplay draws patterns from the genre classics mentioned in the introduction, however, due to the limitations of mobile devices, the whole thing has been subjected to quite clear simplifications. The game boils down to wandering through successive (out of a total of ten) not very complex locations and eliminating the monsters encountered. And all this, of course, in order to gain the appropriate gold resources and experience that will prove necessary to face the demon in the finale of the story.
The whole thing focuses primarily on action, and the RPG elements have been reduced to the necessary minimum in the game. As your character grows, its parameters are automatically modified, and you will not find any additional skills that would allow you to develop your character according to your preference. The boy also presents a set of available weapons and armour (the equipment has not been described by any coefficients), and only one kind of magical concoction is available to us. Although the game takes place in fantasy realities and creatures such as ploughing, trolls, stallions and demons often stand in our way, there is no possibility to learn any spells in the game.
Technical issues
Depending on your preferences, the action of the game can be observed from the first or third person perspective, using the virtual joystick duo and action buttons typical for mobile games. The strongest side of the game is the graphic design, which is characterized by a large variety of locations and appropriate atmosphere and stands out from similar mobile RPG genre productions on the plus side.
