The second part of the series of FPP adventure games, created with virtual reality sets in mind. Red Matter 2 introduces a number of novelties, the most important of which is the fight with enemies.
Red Matter 2 is the second part of the series launched in 2018 designed for virtual reality goggles. In contrast to the original which is a fairly classic adventure, this title has been enriched with action elements. It was developed by the authors of the original, the Vertical Robot studio.
Red Matter 2 takes us on a journey to a science fiction universe in which the Atlantic Union and the People's Republic of Volgravia participate in a large-scale space race. After the events of the first installment of the series, Agent Epsilon must travel through the solar system to investigate the source of a distress signal sent by his old friend. Along the way, the protagonist uncovers the dark secrets of Volgravia and learns more about the titular red matter.
In Red Matter 2 we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). We travel through various locations, among which the interiors of research facilities scattered around the Solar System are the most important. Exploring them, we follow the development of the story and solve clever puzzles, which allows us to push the plot forward. Moving around the levels is made easier (and more attractive in the platform sections) by the presence of a jet pack, which allows us to get to high places. Among the puzzles waiting to be solved there is terminal hacking, for which we use a special tool. Apart from that, there are weapons at our disposal, which are useful both for fighting with opponents and for solving some environmental puzzles.
Red Matter 2 features high quality graphics, especially for the standards of VR games. The locations are varied and full of details, and the complement to all this is the realistic physics of objects.
