Remington Super Slam Hunting: Africa is the second installment of a series of first person shooters (FPS) with the logo of an American weapon manufacturer. According to the title, players have the opportunity to take part in a virtual safari on the Black Continent. Developers from the Jack of All Games studio have taken care of a large variety of weapons, animals and hunting scenes.
Remington Super Slam Hunting: Africa, released on PC and Wii, is the second game in a series of hunting shooters created by Jack of All Games and published by Mastiff. Development work was carried out in parallel with Remington Super Slam Hunting: North America, and the game was released in stores just two days after the release of the first part of the series.
In of mechanics, Remington Super Slam Hunting: Africa is a dynamic, arcade FPP shooter. The player's task is to point the weapon's sight at a selected animal (or object) and to pull the trigger at the right moment. Things that matter the most are reflex, precision, shooting distance, as well as the continuity of hits.
The developers from Jack of All Games have taken care of a large assortment of available weapons and hunting equipment. During virtual hunting, players can primarily benefit from faithfully reproduced models of guns, shotguns and rifles manufactured by Remington.
As the title suggests, players have the opportunity to take part in a virtual safari. The main campaign offers 35 different missions where we can hunt 15 species of African animals, including the so-called "big five". (lion, buffalo, rhino, elephant and leopard). For fans of multiplayer, there is a 4-player multiplayer with options of cooperation and competition.
Remington Super Slam Hunting: Africa uses solutions that have also been used in Super Slam Hunting: North America. The quality of the visuals is comparable to competitive productions (e.g. Dangerous Safari), which translates into simplified three-dimensional animal models and unrealistic motion animations. However, the lack of graphics compensates for the wide variety of locations, as well as the possibility of hunting in locations with dynamic lighting and weather conditions.
