RIVE

RIVE for XONE, SWITCH and etc. is a two-dimensional platformer game offering old-school mechanics and based on the concept of fighting and hacking hostile robots. RIVE was created by Two Tribes - a revived Dutch team popular mainly for the platformer Toki Tori series and consisting of three game-makers.

Plot & Mechanics

The game is set in a tranquil region of the galaxy, which is to be turned into the arena of serious fighting because of the player. Taking control over a modern-day combat drone (this can move across surfaces, both jump and fly), the player causes destruction within a radius of 360 degrees. The gameplay focuses on exploring a set of diverse levels, where the player faces an army of hostile robots. Apart from eliminating the enemies, the player hacks them (affecting their behaviour) by collecting power-ups.
