Rollerdrome is an action game, in which we ride through arenas on roller skates and fight enemies with a variety of firearms. Killing enemies regenerates health and performing tricks replenishes ammunition.
Rollerdrome is an unusual TPP shooter in which we fight while rollerblading. The game was developed by Roll7 studio, the authors of OlliOlli series.
The game takes us to the near future - to the year 2030. In the reality created by the authors triumphs a new brutal sport created by the Mattherhorn corporation (the title Rolllerdrome), in which the skaters must survive in the arenas full of traps and enemies.
The player assumes the role of one of the athletes participating in the great tournament. Her goal is to survive and discover the real reasons why the Matterhorn organized these competitions.
Rollerdrome is an action game in which we observe the events from a third person perspective. Our heroine moves on roller skates, which allows her to quickly move around the map. She can also perform various stunts, which help in navigation and combat.
The arenas are filled with enemies, both human and mechanical. Players gain access to a rich arsenal of weapons. Killing enemies regenerates our character's health, and performing tricks replenishes ammunition.
Game offers only single player mode. However, we can compete with other people for points within online rankings.
Players can additionally unlock a bonus solo mode called "Bloodlust", which is the biggest test of skill and agility.
A strong side of Rollerdrome is the graphics. The game is made in a retrofuturistic style, inspired by science fiction movies from the 70s and 80s of the last century. The graphics are 3D, but it is made in a strongly cartoonish style.

In 2022, we had at least a few big, high-budget productions that, in order to get to the top, had to use the solutions of their predecessors. This list, on the other hand, includes indie games that the pressure of producers didn't give a damn.
In February 2024, PS Plus Essential subscribers will be able to play a debut FPS from Square Enix, a quirky production about rollerblading and shooting, as well as a soulslike set in an alternate version of Paris.

Rollerdrome is a phenomenal shooter that blends great combat and movement with a wonderful sense of progression, with stunning visuals and plenty of replayability.
GamesRadar+: 3.5 / 5 by Jon Bailes
Once you get to grips with its demands, Rollerdrome’s core concept is realised immaculately. With glorious backup from its retro stylings, each run is peppered with audacious stunts that would grace any action movie. It flags towards the end, however, thanks to an inelegant pile-on of difficulty, a lack of new twists, and disregard for its character’s story and narrative themes.
Forbes: 9 / 10 by Kris Holt
If you’re looking for something a bit different to play this summer and have a Tony Hawk-sized action sports itch you need to scratch, Rollerdrome is absolutely worth checking out.
