Rooted is a survival game set in a postapocalyptic world, inspired by DayZ. Game was developed and published by small indie developer Headlight Studio.
We play as one of few survivors of bacteriological war which took place twenty years before. Each day poses us a challenge to survive and better adapt to life in the postapocalyptic world.
We explore the postapocalyptic world in third person view, gaining knowledge about the environment, plants and animals. We use found resources to build shelter, equipment and weapons, we also have to take care of food. With time we learn to craft more and more advanced items, also using electronic and hydraulic mechanisms. We can get companions by taming and training animals and assign them tasks - to protect us or hunt.
In Rooted we can play solo or with others in online co-op.
Game was developed using Unreal Engine 5, which shows its capabilities in of extremely realistic graphics and advanced physics.

Unreal Engine 5 offers a huge amount of capabilities, and the Rooted project seems to take advantage of most of them. The game is at a very early stage of work, but it already impresses with visuals.
