Royal Envoy is a puzzle game with elements of time-management strategy produced by Playrix Entertainment studio. The player's aim is to help save the island kingdom of Islandshire by building cities and fulfilling the wishes of the inhabitants. The title is characterized by a very dynamic gameplay and cartoon visual setting.
Royal Envoy is the work of Playrix Entertainment studio, specializing in the production of games for the so-called casual market (Fishdom, Gardenscapes and others). The title is a combination of a logical game with elements of time management strategy and, to a certain extent, arcade.
The action of the game was set in the island kingdom of Islandshire, which is struggling with numerous catastrophes. Heavy rainfall caused that most of the inhabitants were deprived of a roof over their heads. In this situation, the king decided to send his plenipotentiary to take care of the reconstruction.
The player, who plays the role of the title royal envoy, has the task of rebuilding cities on 9 islands, each with about 10 missions. The condition for their completion is the achievement of the set goals - collecting the required amount of raw materials (wood, gold or food), building a certain number of buildings of a given type, finding a hidden treasure, etc. The goal of the project is to collect the required amount of raw materials (wood, gold or food). To make it even more difficult, you have to deal with everything in the time limit.
The game consists mainly in erecting buildings (there are 20 types in total) and collecting raw materials. The workforce is made up of people in Islandshire who need housing and food. The player must demonstrate the ability to think logically and plan actions correctly over time, as well as considerable dexterity in directing subjects to specific jobs.
Royal Envoy is distinguished by its vivid colours, two-dimensional graphic design and many humorous accents in the way characters and the game world are presented. Playrix Entertainment developers also took care of a number of additional materials, including eye-catching, animated screen saver, desktop wallpapers and audio files extracted from the soundtrack.
