S: Fragmented Minds is an action game from the survival horror genre, set in the titular universe. It was developed by the independent team HST Game Studios and is their debut project. Its creation was made possible partially thanks to financial from the community.

Story

The world in which the game's action takes place was created for the needs of popular creepy stories disseminated through the Internet, also known as creepypastas. S is an organization that deals with the research and securing of supernatural phenomena, mysterious (and dangerous) entities and places, as well as all sorts of anomalies. This name also refers to the objects cataloged by it.

S: Fragmented Minds takes us to a grim version of this reality, in which humanity has been decimated by a cataclysm. We end up in Site-113, a research facility located on Mars, where exceptionally dangerous Ss have been moved.

The main cons of the game

  • Limited Content in Chapter 1: Many reviews express disappointment with the fact that only one S (S-3199) is featured in the first chapter, leading to a repetitive experience. Players expected a broader array of Ss to interact with.

  • Combat Mechanics: The combat has been criticized for feeling basic and repetitive, with some players finding it too easy to defeat enemies. The lack of a more substantial horror element was also noted, as the game sometimes felt more like a puzzle game than a horror experience.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to s

  • More Ss and Variety: Players expressed a desire for more Ss to be included in future chapters, as the limited interactions in Chapter 1 felt underwhelming.
  • Improved Enemy AI: s suggested that the enemy AI could be enhanced to provide a more challenging and engaging experience, as current behaviors can be predictable and easy to exploit.
  • Enhanced Crafting System: While crafting is present, players noted that it felt underutilized in Chapter 1, with a call for more crafting options and items to collect.
  • Better Navigation and Hints: Some reviews indicated that players often felt lost or confused about objectives and suggested the addition of clearer hints or a map system to improve navigation.

Summary

  • Overall, "S: Fragmented Minds" shows promise as a horror game within the S universe, but it has room for improvement, particularly in content variety, technical stability, and gameplay depth. Players are hopeful for future updates and chapters that will address these concerns.
