A slightly refreshed and extended version of the second installment of the Saboteur series released in 1987. In Saboteur II: Avenging Angel, we take on the role of Nina, whose mission is to change the course of a missile equipped with a nuclear device before it is launched by enemy forces. The production was developed by the Polish studio SimFabric, and was supervised by the creator of the original - Clive Townsend.

Saboteur II: Avenging Angel is a slightly refreshed and extended version of the second installment of the Saboteur series, whose prototype debuted in 1987. Similarly to the remaster of the first part of the series, we are dealing with a platform action game with sneaky elements. The Polish company SimFabric is behind the creation and release of this title, and Clive Townsend, the creator of the original, was working on it.

Plot

Saboteur II: Avenging Angel takes place after the events from the first part of the cycle. The main heroine of the game is Nina, the sister of a ninja warrior known from the Saboteur. Its task is to break through to a secret military base and change the course of a missile equipped with a nuclear device, which the enemy intends to launch in the near future. For Nina's mission to be successful, the heroine has to leave the place in one piece.

Mechanics

In Saboteur II: Avenging Angel, the action is shown from the side. As it was the case in the first part of the series, you should be constantly on guard when crossing the extended levels. In Nina's path there are opponents who may have firearms, and the protagonist has to face dangerous pumas. The heroine is not defenseless, however, because she is able to fight close combat and make use of a found weapon (more or less improvised). In addition, from time to time, we come across elements of the local security system that block the way forward and which we must neutralise.

Against the background of the original, this title stands out due to its new stages and opponents, as well as storylines extending the story told here. In addition, there is a place for various easter eggs and other secrets to be discovered.

Technical aspects

In of the graphics quality Saboteur II: Avenging Angel remains true to the original. However, the creators have implemented special image filters that reflect the appearance of the original on the various platforms on which it appeared (ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad C, MS DOS and Special Retro VGA). All this is complemented by new songs, accompanied by the game.
