Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual is a cartoon comedy adventure game. The game was created with virtual reality technology in mind.
Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual! is an adventure game developed for virtual reality devices. The game was created by HappyGiant studio. This is another part of the popular cycle, initiated by Sam & Max Hit the Road in 1993. Many veterans of the series took part in the development, including Steve Purcell, the artist responsible for the comic book predecessor of the brand.
According to the tradition of the series, the game is an absurd comedy, but for the first time in the history of the cycle, the player does not control Sam and Max. Instead, we play the role of a cadet who has just started his service at Freelance Police, the unofficial and self-proclaimed police department in New York.
Sam and Max will first test our skills on an obstacle-filled course built in an abandoned funfair with many secrets. Then we the duo while patrolling the city streets.
Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual! combines adventure and arcade elements. The gameplay consists of a series of various challenges, testing our cleverness, reflexes and accuracy.
The game offers only single player mode.
Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual! was developed exclusively for virtual reality devices. Playing without VR goggles is impossible.
The game has three-dimensional graphics made in cartoon style. A big advantage for the fans of the brand should be the fact that the voices of the title characters were given by David Nowlin and Dave Boat, i.e. the actors who also played these roles in the earlier installments of the cycle.
