An action adventure game with an isometric view, designed primarily for coop (either local or online). Sedap! A Culinary Adventure is about running our own food truck business. We can also explore a fantasy island, looking for new cooking ingredients and recipes.
Sedap! A Culinary Adventure is an action-adventure game with a culinary theme, designed primarily for cooperative play. It was developed by the independent studio Kopiforge from Singapore.
In Sedap! A Culinary Adventure we watch the action in an isometric view. During the game, we embody one of the two main characters and explore Khaya Island.
While exploring locations, we engage in dynamic skirmishes with opponents and gradually learn more about this place. During our travels, we collect ingredients and recipes that we can use to fulfill orders placed by customers of our food truck.
The island has been divided into biomes, each of which is a source of unique flavors. Among the dishes waiting to be prepared, we will find such delicacies of Southeast Asia as fried rice with pineapple, chicken with rice, banh mi or bubble tea.
As we progress, we fill up the Makanomicon, which is a cookbook containing recipes for individual dishes. Additionally, we collect amulets, weapons, and useful tools that allow us to face subsequent challenges.
Sedap! A Culinary Adventure can be played solo, but the game was primarily designed with co-op gameplay in mind. We can play with the second player through the Internet or locally.
The developers have uniquely solved the issue of split screen, as the line separating its two parts is not rigidly set. Instead it changes its position, adapting to the actions of individual players and the positions occupied by their characters. When the characters are close enough to each other, this line completely disappears.
In Sedap! A Culinary Adventure we enter a fantasy world inspired by Southeast Asia, specifically - the island of Khaya Island. It is full of mysteries and dangers, but also ingredients for preparing delicious dishes.
The main characters of the game are Som and Gon. While the former is a talented chef, the latter is a seasoned hunter. The protagonists forces to develop their food truck into a thriving business. Somewhat incidentally, our characters discover the secrets of this piece of land.
The graphic design of Sedap! A Culinary Adventure was maintained in a cartoonish low poly style (the whole thing was based on a relatively small number of polygons).
