The title does not bring any major changes to the setting and mechanics of the game, and its most important feature is a powerful database, containing about 1500 club and national teams from all six continents, together with 27 thousand real players. Sensible World of Soccer is an extended version of Sensible Soccer which debuted in 1992 on Amiga and Atari ST computers, and a year later it was also converted to a PC platform. Both games were developed by Sensible Software studio, also known for such hits as Cannon Fodder series.

Mechanics

In of mechanics, the PC version of Sensible World of Soccer does not differ from its predecessor, and the only noticeable change is a slight correction of the ball's behaviour. The matches are presented from the classic camera angle - high above the football pitch. The same single-button control model is also used, where the force of our depends on how long we push the key. After the shot, however, we can bend the ball by using directional keys.

One of the most important distinguishing features of Sensible World of Soccer is a huge number of about 1500 real teams, both national and clubs from six continents - practically all the countries where football leagues are present. In practice, this translates into around 27,000 real players, described by several basic parameters. The game offers numerous game modes - from friendly matches, leagues and national cups to international tournaments. The game also has a career mode enriched with simple manager options, in which we can lead the selected team for twenty seasons, taking care of the selection of line-up and tactics, transfers and finances of the club.

Technical aspects

In of the graphics, Sensible World of Soccer on PC does not differ significantly from previous versions of the series, and the game is characterized by small models of the players, made in a typical for Sensible Software games style. Although they consist of only a few dozen pixels, the authors tried to reflect the characteristic features of the appearance of individual players, such as skin colour or hairstyle (or lack thereof). As for the sound, the game offers a full match commentary (available only in the CD version).

Other

Between 1994 and 1998, a total of four versions of Sensible World of Soccer were released, including one prepared specifically for the 1996 European Football Championship. Individual editions, however, do not differ from each other in of graphics or mechanics, containing only updated line-ups and parameters of players.
