Mechanics

In Settlement Survival the action was shown from the top-down view. We start the game from finding the right place for the settlement; we have to pay attention to both the terrain and the access to valuable resources. Then there's nothing left for us but to start clearing forests, constructing buildings, as well as producing food, acquiring various resources and manufacturing various goods. Surplus of resources and products can be sold or exchanged for the needed goods.

If we do everything right, over time our village starts doing better and better, and we can focus on its development. The game includes a number of technology trees dedicated to specific areas - from trade and education, through mining, construction and agriculture, to logistics and living conditions. Each of them provides us with access to more and more advanced buildings and skills. Moreover, we should take care of the growing needs of our subjects, providing them with security and access to entertainment, education and work. The game also allows us to modify the landscape - with a single stroke of the cursor we can level hills, create valleys or form rivers and lakes.

However, even the most prosperous settlement can turn out to be nothing when confronted with the forces of nature. Seasons change on procedurally generated maps, and from time to time tornadoes rage, which, if we're not prepared for their arrival, can thwart our ambitious plans.
