An adventure game with simulator elements, developed by independent studio justLukass. Make friends with the inhabitants of Side Effect, find out what led to the pollution of our environment and help new friends to survive the rubbish apocalypse.
Side Effect is a mix of adventure game and walking simulator, in which we play from the first person perspective (FPP). It was developed by a one-man team - justLukass. Although the release of the full version was planned for 2022, already on 3 May 2021 on the Steam platform its demo was released.
The Earth has been polluted for many years with rubbish produced by humanity. The main goal of the gameplay is to bring the player closer to how such a huge pollution occurred and how to fight it.
While exploring the world of Side Effect, the player meets various wild animals that have suffered as a result of environmental pollution. Each of these animals tells a story, explaining how the changes have affected their lives and their surroundings. One of the animals the player encounters is Tobi the fox, representing land pollution. The animals that the player makes friends with help him collect rubbish and recycle it, or clean the air of smog.
Side Effect has simple, three-dimensional graphics. The composer Miguel Ines is responsible for composing the soundtrack for the game.
