Siege the Day is a tower defense strategy game, in which we create our own castle in a fantasy world and defend it against the enemies' attacks. Game was developed by Hidden Tower Studios, creators of several smaller games. The game could be tested in early access.
Each battle takes place on a map divided into two sectors: ours and the enemy's. During clashes we receive a certain amount of points, which we spend on expanding the castle. Among the available objects are typical defensive structures, such as walls, gates and towers, offensive ones, such as siege machines, and buildings that allow us to recruit units. When we think we are ready, or run out of points, we go into battle.
With the help of our equipment, such as catapults or ballistae, we attack the enemy structures. At the same time, we recruit units using the coins we have, whose task is to get to the enemy's castle to make additional damage there. We make their task easier by demolishing gates or special buildings belonging to the enemy. With every next map we unlock new, more powerful structures and attack types. An additional resource is mana, which allows us to use one of the powerful magic skills during the battle, such as the fire stone falling from the sky or the dragon flying over the opponent's castle. The use of each of these is limited, so it's worth planning your move carefully. Battles end when all of your opponent's or your own key buildings are destroyed.
There are several game modes available. The first one is training: it allows to face AI without gaining experience points or next ranks. The second is campaign, which consists of progressing through specific phases in a predetermined order. The third is the quick match, which works on similar principles as the training, with the difference that it gives us experience and allows us to gain subsequent ranks. These ranks are in turn needed for the last of the game modes, namely battles with other players. PvP duels take place in the same way as with the AI, in the 1 on 1 formula. We get the opportunity to construct our castle, and then we proceed to the real-time duel, during which we try to get rid of the opponent's fortifications.
Siege the Day features eye-pleasing fairy-tale graphics with low-detail models.
