Economic strategy published by the well-known company Maxis. Our task in this production is to manage a real skyscraper.
The skyscraper is an unprecedented thing in our country, so if someone does not have an aunt in Chicago, who regularly sends postcards, or does not watch American films, they have a rather poor chance to see him, and not to be in the middle of a huge building. Fortunately, there is a company Maxis, which decided to serve another simulator to all its fans, this time with the title tower in the leading role.
In comparison with other games of this type, SimTower has at first glance rather little to offer, just a dozen or so types of rooms and communication elements. However, those who think that this will make the game easier will be mistaken - on the contrary. Different animosities take place between the different social groups living in the tower, which do not allow them to coexist in peace and quiet. Thus, the residents of apartments and the hotel part are disturbed by the noise of offices. The latter's workers complain when there is a cinema or ballroom close to their place of work, and these two facilities are needed by residents in turn. The wheel closes. In addition, it is important to ensure efficient communication between floors. The skyscraper, as the name suggests, is constructed upwards and not across, so the second important problem you'll face is to program the elevators in such a way that they carry engers as quickly as possible, and you don't have to wait long in the corridor. Half poor, if our new building has ten floors, but what will happen at sixty? The rating of your building is expressed in of the number of stars (as in hotels), which will be awarded to you for exceeding a certain number of inhabitants and providing other amenities. The five-star tower will be crowned with the construction of a cathedral on the hundredth floor, when the game will also end. Success in SimTower is difficult to achieve, but possible. In of graphics SimTower does not impress, although it is difficult to deny him a specific aesthetics. Much worse is with the sound, which becomes annoying after just fifteen minutes, and yet one successful gameplay can last several dozen times longer. Despite these shortcomings, SimTower is able to attract to the monitor for a long time, mainly due to the professional approach to the subject and the complicated mechanism that controls the lives of thousands of people.
