Oldskulowy RPG game type dungeon crawler with light raspberries of the roguelike genre. As the ruler of the title land of Siralim, we travel through procedurally generated dungeons and get used to various creatures, then with their help to fight turn-based battles against monsters, perform random tasks and collect magical treasures. We also take care of our royal castle.
Siralim is a 2D dungeon crawler RPG, in which the action is observed from a top-down perspective. This title is the debut work of the independent studio Thylacine Games.
The story in Siralim isn't that important. We play as a ruler of the titular kingdom, and our duty to protect these lands - which means that we have to undertake expeditions and deal with the evil lurking in the dark corners of the land ourselves.
As mentioned above, Siralim is a dungeon crawler. This means that the game is mainly about exploring procedurally generated dungeons (in eight different varieties) and perform random tasks, search for treasures and, of course, fight with monsters. The games uses a turn-based combat system.
A very important element of the game is the option to tame different creatures with which we fight. Although Siralim has over 300 different creatures, the hero can be accompanied by up to six monsters at the same time. The key to success is to create a team in which the skills of each creature complement each other. This is all the more important because Siralim is characterized by a fairly high difficulty level. Luckily, the player can improve the abilities of their monsters by equipping them with various items and upgrading through an extensive crafting system. In addition, the hero learns new spells by gaining experience points, which are also useful in combat.
We also have a castle which can be modified, giving us new options, providing services, objects, creatures that we can tame, etc. In addition to wandering around the dungeons, the player can try their hand at duels in the arena, take care of eggs, from which extremely powerful creatures can hatch or even gamble in an inn.
Siralim is characterized by a retro style, reminiscent of productions from the 1980s. This applies to both the graphic design and the sounds.
