A new version of the classic mobile game Snake by the original creator, Taneli Armanto. In Snake Rewind you control a snake, who constantly moves forwards, and your task is to direct it at meals scattered all over the screen. By eating them, the snake gets longer, which increases your points, but also makes it harder to play, as the space to maneuver decreases. If you hit the wall or your own tail, you lose.
Snake Rewind for WP, AND and iOS is an arcade game and the successor to one of the greatest hits of early mobile games. The original creator, Taneli Armanto, developed it. The game utilizes a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
The basic gameplay was left unchanged. You control the snake, which constantly moves forwards and swallows different objects appearing on the screen. Each such meal increases the length of the snake, hence making it harder to survive, as the game ends when you hit a wall on your own body.
The game consists of ten separate levels, each featuring a different visual style. There is also a monochrome style option for the more traditionally minded players, which further reinforces the vintage nostalgia.
The visuals are not the only elements that were enhanced. The maps can feature bonus items, which give you temporary special powers. For example, one such item creates a magnetic field around the snake, which absorbs all the dots in its range, making it easier to collect them. Some levels also feature extra challenges, e.g. directing the snake along a marked path. As the title suggests, you can also rewind the game a little, which gives you another shot at scoring high even if you make a mistake.
