Release Date: May 11, 2022
An original production in which the flow of the gameplay is tied to the rhythm of the music - the world presented reacts to individual songs and single tones, and during clashes against our opponents, we are rewarded for adapting our actions to the dynamic songs. In Soundfall we play as Melody, a girl trying to save the land of Symphonia from a dark force known as the Discord.
Soundfall is a hybrid of several genres, as it combines roguelike, twin-stick shooter and rhythm game elements. The title was developed by the independent Drastic Games studio, founded by former Epic Games employees.
The main character of Soundfall is Melody, a young audiophile who has been thrown into a musical land called Symphony. The protagonist must not only find her way home but also defend the world from a dark force known as the Discord.
In Soundfall, the action is shown in an isometric view. At first glance, the gameplay does not differ from the pattern characteristic for roguelike titles. Over the course of the game, we travel through procedurally generated locations, fight against hordes of enemies with the use of melee weapons and firearms, and acquire more and more powerful equipment.
In comparison to other games of this type, the described title is distinguished by the fact that everything happens to the rhythm of music, and the world presented here reacts not only to individual songs but also to individual tones. In addition, we have to adapt to the rhythm of the songs when trying to execute attacks and evade incoming blows, for which we are additionally rewarded.
Soundfall can be played in singleplayer or with up to three people, in an online or a local cooperation mode.
Soundfall operates on the basis of Unreal Engine 4 technology. The three-dimensional graphics of this production are kept in a colourful, cartoony style. The gameplay is accompanied by a dynamic, trance soundtrack.

Game Ratings for Soundfall Video Game.
GameSpew: 8 / 10 by Richard Seagrave
Soundfall is one of the most unique experiences of the year so far, and that alone ought to pique the interest of gamers. But it’s those who love music-rhythm games that are assuredly going to get the most out of it. And if they also like twin-stick shooters and loot games, they’ll be in heaven. In any case, this eclectic mix of genres works, and whether played alone or in co-op it’s largely a beat-filled blast.
Shacknews: 7 / 10 by TJ Denzer
Soundfall does quite a few things right. Its loot and shoot design set to a lot of good music is commendable. The tracks included in the game are of a wide variety and even if you get through the entire game, the ability to play levels to your own favorite music is pretty great (on PC). The problem is… Soundfall’s gear and enemies just aren’t all that compelling. The music and rhythmic gameplay are good enough to carry a lot of this game, but I can’t help but wish it had a more rewarding variety of gear to look forward to and enemies that didn’t quickly end up feeling like repetitive drones. Even so, if you can get down with a good rhythm action game alone or with friends, Soundfall might be worth it whether you play to its soundtrack or bring your own.
Game Rant: 2.5 / 5 by Adrian Morales
Soundfall is a treat for musically inclined gamers, but its weak mechanics hold it back.
