Dark Angels is the third expansion for Space Hulk: Ascension – a 2014’s turn based science-fiction strategy game created by Full Control as an attempt to translate the popular Space Hulk board game set in the Warhammer 40K universe into a video game setting.
Plot
The most attractive feature delivered by this add-on is a new story campaign called Bringer of Sorrow, which adds 20 missions to the entire Space Hulk: Ascension experience. The story focuses upon the Dark Angels chapter – elite Space Marines legion, famous for its mysteriousness and limitless loyalty to the Emperor. Players get to control the Deathwing, leading the Dark Angels squad to battle against the Tyranids, who plan a full-scale assault on the planet of Corinthe after arriving on the planet’s orbit in a huge Space Hulk. Moreover, the developers prepared 20 new Flash Missions. Overall, the Dark Angels expansion features over 25 additional hours of gameplay.
Mechanics
The Dark Angels expansion introduces new weapons – plasma guns, which allow their s to deal significant area damage. The newly introduced Space Marines faction – the Dark Angels Chapter – unites the so-called Apothecaries, who serve as units.
