Mechanics

Spaceland is a turn-based strategy with RPG elements, in which we take control of the branch and perform missions in consecutive locations.

Spaceland presents a linear gameplay, leading us from one location to another. Battle arenas aren't great, however, they are distinguished by different mechanics, which sometimes resemble optional simple puzzle games. For example, in one location we can shift barrels with explosive substance, so that after blowing them up we can hurt the path of aliens crawling from under the ground; in another location we can manoeuvre monsters and sink them into lava. Of course, no-one is going to forbid us to go through every mission with the use of force, but it is not always profitable.

The game was prepared in such a way that the competition was dynamic and each location did not take more than 10 - 15 minutes. We won't find many covers for our team, and the existing ones may be destroyed. An additional element that rushes us is a limited amount of ammunition. Of course, on the maps you can find boxes that will allow us to renew its supply, but in some battle arenas the number of enemies is theoretically infinite (they come out of the underground continuously). This makes the game harder and harder with each turn.

An additional incentive to quickly defeat the location are the final rewards. In the summary of each mission we get chips and money. We spend chips on improving our skills, and money on repairing new weapons and armour, unlocked in the form of feature films as the game progresses. Rewards are given for killed monsters, characters who have survived missions, found secrets (almost every map has at least one) and for moving locations in fewer turns than the game predicts. Missions can be repeated in order to achieve better results in them or to gather resources necessary for development in a faster way and make it easier to play the game.

Fights in Spaceland are turn-based and rely on the skilful use of the environment and special skills of the characters. There are 7 heroes that we can integrate into our team, but they are not available from the beginning, and we unlock them as the story progresses. However, it should be emphasized that missions usually do not allow us to take all soldiers. In most cases, our team is limited to people whose skills are necessary to get through a given location, and we can choose to them (although not always).

Game modes

Spaceland is a game for one and two players. The core of the game is a feature campaign, but it is possible to take part in online duels.
