SpeedRunners for PC and XONE is an independent game developed by studio Double Dutch Games, the creators of the mobile production 321 TAP. In difference to the previous title, SpeedRunners was quite successful and it became one of the e-sport titles (The game is officially ed by ESL). Since the debut of the early version of the game, it sold more than 600 thousand units. The game was published by tinyBuild Games, a company which also released Fearless Fantasy.
Plot
SpeedRunners takes place in a fictional world filled with various superheroes. There are so many of them that they are lacking criminals to fight. Due to that, the heroes are forced to compete about who will first reach a crime scene and will be able to do a good deed there.
Mechanics
Speedrunners for PC and XONE is a two-dimensional platform racing game. In the game the player selects one of the available characters (there are more than 50 of them) and runs. The objective of the game is to eliminate the remaining competitors by leaving them far behind. It can be done by using various gadgets like mines and grappling hook. One can use the surrounding for his advantage as well. Each small round is filled with obstacles which can slow down the run. During the game, in addition to one’s skill, being familiar with the map is important as well. The game focuses on multiplayer modes (local and online) for four players, but it is also possible to challenge opponents controlled by the artificial intelligence.

In addition to regular races supplemented with league system, SpeedRunners for PC and XONE offers a level editor. The players can create new locations, the ones added by other s and share their work.
