Star Wars: Rebel Assault

Star Wars: Rebel Assault is one of the few reasons why it was worth buying a CD player in 1993. Although this "rail shooter", realized with great momentum, can hardly be called an outstanding program, we must honestly it that it once shocked, especially what you could see on the screen. The player takes on the role of a pilot with the eloquent nickname "Rookie One" and stands up to fight against the Empire that wants to stifle the embryonic alliance of Rebelia. The game consists of fifteen typically arcade stages, between which we can watch full-screen movies (then very high quality).

As befits a classic "rail shooter", the player does not have much influence on the movement of his ship, can only slightly deviate when trying to avoid with an obstacle, aim and destroy approaching opponents. Of course, this only applies to charts in which our vessel is observed from the first or third person's perspective. In Rebel Assault there are also stages where our hero, with a faithful blaster in hand, will annihilate enemy soldiers. Here, in turn, we have fully static backgrounds and the only possibility of movement is to lean out and shoot. During the game we will be able to play Tatooine in the T16 Skyhopper cabins, fight TIE Fighters in the asteroid field, try to destroy the AT-AT walking machines and recreate the famous rally in the "canal", the aim of which is to destroy the Death Star.
