Release Date: July 27, 2010
A sequel to a bestselling RTS game released by the Blizzard company in 1998. The story of the second game was split into three separate episodes; Wings of Liberty is the first installment in the trilogy, focusing on Terrans. In the game you meet an old acquaintance - Jim Raynor. Deemed a rebel, now he fights with Zerg forces, who seem to be interested in a mysterious artifact. He also encounters the powerful and mysterious race of Protoss.
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for PC is the first episode of the sequel to one of the most popular real-time strategy games in history of gaming. The first installment of the series was released in 1998 and received an expansion entitled Legacy of the Void. All three were developed by Blizzard Entertainment.
Wings of Liberty is the first, fundamental part of StarCraft II that begins the trilogy. The game offers a full-blown multiplayer mode, an advanced map editor, and, first and foremost, an extensive story campaign that tells of the Terrans. We assume the role of Jim Raynor known from the original StarCraft who, according to the laws of the Terran Dominion (headed by deceptive Arcturus Mengsk), is a rebel. As the brave Raynor, we are to fight the returning race of Zerg led by Kerrigan, who is interested in obtaining a certain artifact. We will also meet the mysterious and powerful Protoss, as well. The campaign offers a large amount of freedom – we can select missions ourselves and invest in technologies of our choosing.
StarCraft II for PC resembles its predecessor in many aspects, for the basic gameplay mechanics remained the same. However, the developers decided to divide the game into three parts, and each episode is focused on one of three playable factions. Commanding the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss, our task is to lead the chosen race to victory by building a base, gathering resources, developing technology, and, naturally, defeating the enemy. The subsequent parts consist of a number of missions in which we learn the story of a given side of the conflict.
An interesting novelty, especially for the fans of the StarCraft universe, is the fact that we can explore a spaceship and other places the protagonist resides in between missions. There are numerus interactive objects in each room such as a jukebox with a couple of songs to play, screens broadcasting an information channel, an arcade machine, and many non-playable characters. Some of them, apart from a chat, also offer their services that include the possibility of hiring a team of mercenaries or buying enhancements for our units and buildings.
The Terrans, on which the campaign of Wings of Liberty is focused, have not changed significantly since our last encounter. One of the novelties is the possibility of enhancing the command center with a defensive module or using the building as a transporter for the SCV workers. Moreover, the Terrans can now hide their warehouses under the ground and use a special radar that displays all enemies, even those out of sight. Apart from that, some minor fixes were introduced in the infrastructure (and its modification) and units department. Many of them represent the technological progress that occurred in the StarCraft universe since the events of the original game.
Some of the most noticeable features of StarCraft II for PC include completely new graphics. The title utilizes great capabilities of an entirely new graphics engine that can generate a considerable number of three-dimensional, and very detailed units on various maps. The game’s audio is also noteworthy, especially the great soundtrack.

Strategy
An official collection of DLCs to the StarCraft II trilogy, launched in 2010 and developed by the creators of the original franchise, legendary studio Blizzard Entertainment. The new missions are set after the events of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, when Terrans try to rebuild their Empire, battered after many wars. The story focuses on an agent of the Ghosts squad named November ‘Nova’ Terra, a character known from previous installments. The protagonist has to take on a dangerous group of separatists called the Defenders of Man and ensure the safety of Emperor Mengsk. Unlike the original game, StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops features no online gameplay, but offers 9 new single player missions (3 for each DLC) instead. Interestingly, you do not have to own any StarCraft II game to be able to play Nova Covert Ops missions – you just need a free edition titled StarCraft II Starter Edition.

Strategy
The third chapter of StarCraft II trilogy that came out as a sequel to Blizzard’s bestselling science-fiction RTS. The last episode of the story is devoted to the most mysterious race in the StarCraft universe – the Protoss. You assume the role of the commander of this technically advanced faction, which went through significant evolution as compared with the first game released in 1998. The Protoss army is much more mobile, and individual representatives of the race are faster and gained a new ability - teleportation. In contrast with the other two factions, whose campaigns concentrated on battles, the chapter about the Protoss puts more emphasis on diplomacy, solving internal conflicts, and seeking compromises. Furthermore, the time that lapsed from the release of the previous episode was used to enhance the graphics and make several minor improvements to the gameplay mechanics.

Strategy
The second episode of StarCraft II, a space real-time strategy trilogy by Blizzard Entertainment. The title was distributed as an expansion and requires StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty in order to work. The story campaign is focused on the race of Zerg led by Sara Kerrigan, a character from the original StarCraft, who seeks revenge on the Terran emperor, Arcturus Mengsk. In subsequent missions, we will also encounter other famous characters, such as Jim Raynor, the ghost of Nova, and Matt Horner. In the second episode of the trilogy, the developers concentrated primarily on enhancing the multiplayer mode, introducing new units for every race as well as a character progression system and clan . Some changes were also introduced to the gameplay mechanics — the interface was improved and the RPG elements were emphasized. The enhancements of the graphics engine translate into better graphics, more realistic physics, and spectacular visual effects.
