An sequel to the 2014 farm game Story of Seasons, created by Marvelous, who also developed e.g. games in the Harvest Moon series. The fundamental mechanics of the gameplay remained unchanged. In the game, you manage a declining farm, trying to restore it to its former glory. You play mostly by taking care of your animals, buying and planting seeds, gathering and selling crops, and also meeting various NPCs.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns for 3DS is a sequel to the farm game Harvest Moon series. The gameplay remained largely unchanged, since the game is a competitor of it predecessor, owned by Natsume.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics of Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns are almost the same as the previous instalment's. You manage a declining farm, trying to restore it to its former glory. You mostly have to buy seeds, plant, gather and sell crops, take care of your animals, meet NPCs, etc.

According to the developers, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns is the largest Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon game created by Marvelous. Your farm lies close to three large locations, which differ from each other greatly; each features e.g. different type of terrain. This requires more creativity and looking for new ways to develop your farm. In every town you can find unique elements such as plants, animals, festivals, and female characters to romance.
